Using the calculator

The calculator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to our servers, stored, or logged. We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to count page views and a few anonymous funnel steps (for example, "finished the calculator"), never the numbers you enter.

Uploading an offer letter

If you upload an offer letter, it's sent to an AI model (through Vercel's AI Gateway) that reads out only the equity terms: type, share count, strike, vesting, and any company figures. We hold the file in memory for that one request and never store or log it. We only route it to AI providers that don't train on what you send. The model is instructed to ignore your name, salary, and other personal details, and what it sends back has no place to put them. If you'd rather not upload, typing the numbers into the form keeps everything in your browser.

Sharing your offer anonymously

Sharing is optional, and only happens when you tick the box and press share. We store rough bands, never exact figures: your role, level, broad region, company stage, equity type, base salary to the nearest $10k band, the quarter, and, only if you gave them, your grant size and equity value in wide ranges. We never store your name, email, company, exact salary, the date, or anything that links the entry to you or to anything else you give us.

We only ever show aggregates, and only once at least 10 offers are in a group, so no single offer can be picked out. Everyone sees the same aggregates, including us and the investors we know. We never share or sell individual entries.

Requesting a report

When you ask for the PDF report, we receive and store:

• Your name, email, role, and (optionally) company, to send the report and up to two follow-up emails about equity.
• Your grant parameters, stored separately from your identity (no name, email, or company attached) for aggregate analysis.
• Whether you opted in to the weekly roles list, and when.

The roles list

You're only added to the weekly roles list if you check the box on the report form or click an opt-in button. Requesting a report never adds you on its own.

What we never do

We never sell your data. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
